Marbella is an ideally connected town in terms of the principal means of transport, having an infrastructure network on a par with Spains major capitals.
You can get to Marbella by the Autovía del Mediterráneo A-7 (the A-7 Motoway) (previously the N-340), or the Costa del Sol Highway (AP-7). A new connection by road to Ronda is soon to be constructed, which will considerably cut the Marbella Seville travel time.
The construction of the A-7 Underpass through San Pedro Alcántara will improve internal traffic circulation.
In addition, there is a comprehensive bus service to the main capitals and towns of the country.

There are two important international airports which are less than an hour away by road:
Both airports guarantee direct connections to the principal cities of Spain, Europe, North Africa and the United States.
The forthcoming Málaga Airport extension will allow for twice as many passengers, it already being among the three with the largest traffic in Spain.
From Málaga Airport, there are several ways of getting to Marbella:

Marbella is ideally connected by bus both to Fuengirola station, 27 kms away, and to the one in the capital, Málaga, 57 kms away, which also caters for long-distance travel.
From the latter, known as María Zambrano Station it is possible to use the high-speed AVEline linking Málaga to the network of major capitals: Madrid, Seville, Barcelona, etc.

Marbella has four marinas, set up for the arrival of medium-size boats and smaller vessels, as is the case with Puerto Banús.
The Marbella Marina Extension Project will allow medium-sized cruisers to be received which will increase the possibilities of access to the town from the sea, as it is next to the entrance that serves as Málaga Docks.
Lastly, its proximity to Algeciras and Tarifa, ports from which ferries depart, allow rapid access to the autonomous towns of Ceuta and Melilla and to towns in the north of Morocco.
